Embroidery is designed with each bride individually and handworked in a variety of threads including silk, metal threads and cords. I can also just design and work the embroidery ie I do not have to make your dress.
Embroidery can also be worked on mail order dresses & corsets etc please contact me to discuss your options!
I use a variety of traditional stitching techniques including Chain Stitch (a much-maligned stitch), Couching (particularly with metallic threads) and freestyle embroidery using a mixture of traditional stitches - sometimes used in an untraditional way! My celtic interlacing actually does go over and under each part of the design (see Lynsay bodice/skirt). I am working on new samples at the moment and these will be up on the web as soon as I have the time to finish them. I also work beading, quilting and fabric painting. I am often asked to base my design on a piece of jewellery given to me by the Bride but I do have a lot of sketchbooks and previous designs if you are lacking inspiration!
